A new fanart of Ariel my all time favourite Disney character This is the story behind this piece....yesterday night i was on skype with my best friend (we usually draw together like when we lived close)...i wasn't inspired at all...she was doing some commission and i was searching for an inspiration...i was thinking of a Tiana'a fanart but then i came in a 'Little Mermaid' comic and found a nice pose of Ariel in her bed...so i basically did a rendition of that image adding the flowers and a different background... I'm pretty happy with the final result 'cause i think it's a summer piece...it's been so hot here lately so this pic under the water gives me a sense of relief everytime i see it Hope you all like it Please visit my Little mermaid Gallery here :[link]
It's a very nice shot in a difficult angle. I love the concept and the lightning,it's simple and it works so nicely.
However, I would have changed a few things here and there to perfect it:
The floor has a texture, which is perfect to show off the delicate transparent fin. In order to do that, I would lowered the opacity a lot more and then duplicated the fin layer setting it in some other mode, probably I would have done the same with a couple of flowers.
The focal point is set on her...bottom? so I would have included some bright scales there, that would have added a lot of texture to the tail.
The blur you added to the bubbles it's a very good idea cause it adds atmospheric perspective.
The composition is very nice, along with the palette. The way you pictured the eyes makes them glow over the rest of the face (and that's is not an easy thing to do).
It's my imagination or did you used the Photoshop predeterminated lightning filter to do the sun beams?
